Awww, yesterday was my birthday!! I gotta say, as a words of affirmation girl, I LOVE reading through all the emails, texts, and Facebook messages that come in. I save it all for the end of the day and have a glass of wine with your comments. Thanks for loving this girl!
I was lucky enough to have a week off, so I’m spending my time in California with the hubs, but will be back in CO next week. This whole week has been so sweet! My sweet small group surprised me with a shindig on Tuesday, and then our dear friends Kevin & Eryn had us over for dinner and they sang to me too over cake & ice-cream. And finally, yesterday, the big day, I lounged by the pool and worked on my tan, caught up on a few issues of Rolling Stone & Wine Enthusiast, and took it easy. :-) John took me out last night to a super cute restaurant in downtown Palo Alto called Wine Locale. We did a blind wine tasting and competed for a free bottle of wine and ate amazing filet mignon. The wines were are local to California and sadly I did not wine. The dang Petit Sirah totally threw me!! So much more tasting and reading needs to be done to become the Karate Wine Kid, as my wine friend, Jason, (and coach, as I call him) says.
Lastly, my sweet husband gifted me a set of Tiffany earrings and a little piece of land in Napa Valley!!! I officially own 2 vines in a Napa Valley vineyard. :-) It’s fun concept – I get invited to grape harvesting, crushing, bottling etc, and I can view a 24/7 live camera on my grapes, and I get a bottle of wine made from my grapes. It’s a super sweet gift from my thoughtful husband. :-)
