Good afternoon and happy Tuesday!
It’s been a long month here in the world of RTP and RT – that’s me. The day after Sarah and Michael’s wedding, I jetted off to Europe and upon my return closed on a house, did a few renovations, and made the big move in. More on all that later. But first things first, the newlyweds.
Sarah and Michael were married on the most perfect February day where not a cloud in the sky dared loom over them. The sun was bright and the air was warm. Their ceremony and wedding took place at the gorgeous Cathedral Pines Lodge in Black Forest, where everything from head to toe was a mix of burlap, lace, and pink. My favorite.
When Sarah emailed about her engagement and inquired about wedding photography, I knew I had to be a part of this story. Sarah is an absolute delight and without a miss a beat, she lights up the room with her big smile and welcome laugh. We even share a lot of the same friends. I think Sarah is perhaps one of the oldest RTP fans since I photographed her as a bridesmaid in Kristin and Michael’s Orange County wedding.
What I loved most about this day was watching Michael interact with Sarah. He was beside himself with joy to marry this girl. The way he jumped for joy and clicked his heels after they said “I do,” the way he couldn’t stop kissing her, the way he danced her like there was no tomorrow.
Michael and Sarah, it was a privilege to be there for you. It’s been a long time coming and I am so thrilled I got to witness the first day of 60 years together.
So much love and joy to you,
René
P.S. Special shout out to my wingman Heidi Leigh for her help on this wedding! She rocked it like no one’s business. Could’ve done it without you, girl. xoxo
