Some seasons of life feel impossibly heavy, and yet, somehow, light still finds its way in.
For Bekah and Mitchell, this year has held more heartache than anyone should ever have to carry. But in the midst of it all, the sweetest little gift has been growing quietly, faithfully, bringing with it a hope and joy that has softened even the hardest days. When we photographed their announcement photos earlier this year, it rained—of course it did. It was the only day that worked, so we embraced it, umbrellas and all. There was something beautiful about that moment… the quiet, the resilience, the willingness to show up in the storm.
But this November day? This shoot was different. For Bekah’s maternity session at nearly eight months pregnant, the skies opened in an entirely new way. The light was everything we could have prayed for: golden, buttery, soft, almost heavenly. Bekah stepped into that glow in the most ethereal creamy dress dusted with gold sequins, and truly—she looked like an angel. Radiant. Strong. Wrapped in warmth after such a long stretch of clouds.
This little one is already such a beacon of light for their family, a reminder that even in the hardest seasons, beauty still rises. And capturing that— this chapter, this hope, this glow — felt like witnessing a small miracle. Bekah and Mitchell, thank you for trusting me with these moments. What an honor it is to document the light that has found you. God is good, all the time.
With love & joy,
René
