You guys. We are going to finish the weekend/start the week with an epic wedding, welcoming Teryn: the newest member of the Tate Family!
She married my cousin Theron in the most gorgeous mountain wedding at Piney River Ranch, located 14 miles up a crazy rocky road, just outside of Vail, Colorado. These two are legit mountain bikers (see their engagement here), and just love being outdoors. The morning after their wedding they, of course, went for a ride (before heading to the Maldives for a dream honeymoon!). Talk about an adventurous couple; these two are always up to something fun.
This wedding meant so much to me for so many different reasons. First, we got a new Tate. Teryn. And we love her so so much. Second, I don’t think I’ve ever shot a family wedding before, so this was super fun being surrounded by all of my favorite people! Third, this wedding took place on my 3oth birthday! Yay! I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than to be surrounded by family, doing what I love. And lastly, my uncle, Theron’s dad, passed away about a year and a half ago, so that was really tough being there without him, but yet also really beautiful and meaningful to celebrate his legacy and his family. There wasn’t a dry eye around when we took a family photo with his picture, and Theron wore his fedora, and my aunt held some of his ashes.
One of favorite parts of the day was when these guys were pronounced man and wife and rain drops started falling at the exact moment! Theron passed beers to the wedding party, and the whole congregation cheered as they kissed and became husband and wife! What a joy filled day! Theron & Teryn, I am so so grateful I got to do this for you. Thank you for letting me be a part of your day. I wish you so much love and joy for the rest of your lives and cannot wait to see you again soon!! I love you.

The center stone is from Theron’s mom’s ring. I don’t believe I’ve ever photographed a diamond of this shape and I am so in love with it and the design Theron & Teryn made around it!
I guess I might be a little biased, but I seriously don’t think I’ve seen such a beautiful bride. She was flawless the entire evening, full of grace and elegance!
Theron had some sweet details including his dad’s tie clip, and the coolest tie knot I have ever seen. Take note, gents.
Can we talk about the best man, the dog Maxxis?! Named after mountain biking tires, of course. Look at his sweet cuffs & tie that Theron handmade! This little guy signed the marriage license, and ran down the aisle and gave Theron a high five. *all the feels*
