Good morning! HAPPY Monday! What a weekend! We officially launched, not only this fancy new blog & web site that you’re looking at right now, but more importantly, we launched a NEW BRAND. And in the coming days, we’ll be blogging what exactly the means!
But for now I am soooo thrilled to initiate this new blog with its first shoot recap! Today, we share a *stunning*, if I do say so myself, anniversary session with one of my favorite René Tate Couples: Makenzie & Alex! These two had just celebrated their three-year anniversary, and to continue the celebration they joined me on top of Guanella Pass, just outside Georgetown, Colorado, and donned their suit and wedding dress, for a super fun shoot, that included a first look! What a great idea for Alex to see Kenz in her wedding dress again three years later, albeit the addition of her fur bolero & Badly Mischka belt made for a sweet fresh look. His reaction was priceless. :)
We think anniversary sessions are such a terrific way to honor you marriage and celebrate, especially after that first year of marriage which can often be the most difficult. So grateful for the hearts of these two who celebrate marriage. In Makenzie & Alex’s words:
Celebrating our anniversary in this way felt like an opportunity to mark the ways we had grown deeper together and more intertwined in the first three years of marriage. How two had become more and more “one,” leaning on one another in trials, celebrating joys, and believing in the goodness of who the Lord created us to be individually, but more powerfully, united together. It was a stake in the ground for remembering that being “better together” was not just some nice phrase, but a truth we had come to know in reality, a truth we want to remember as we walk into the future, whatever it holds.
Lastly, we have to give credit to the three amazing ladies that helped make this session possible. Amber Mustain Floral Design created Makenzie’s bouquet & Alex’s boutonnière, and Lindsey of Beauty by Belviso was the artist behind Makenzie’s hair and makeup. WHICH I have to say, wind gusts were a good 50mph, and Makenzie’s hair stayed put. JUST SAYIN. These ladies nailed our vision and are some of the *best* in the wedding industry. And lastly to my sweet friend, Cassie who is a photographer herself who assisted!
