I am SO excited to share this particular engagement shoot with you. Because you see, this shoot has been a long time coming. Like nine years to be exact.
It was nine years ago that I moved into the freshman dorms at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Because I was scheduled to go on a weekend retreat during the real freshman move-in day, I was given permission to move in early. And so was Breanna. She was the first person I ever met at UCCS, just the two of us with our dad’s trucks backed up to the dormitory entrance, and no one else. We crossed paths unloading all our possessions, both of us silently judging the other. Both of us wildly wrong about our judgements. Little did we know, we could become best friends, and eventually roommates.
It’s hard to believe it’s been over nine years since I first met Breanna. We’ve been through a lot together, to include a couple cross country moves, a few degrees, new jobs, deaths, engagements, weddings, rendesveouz’ in Vegas, and plenty of wine tastings in between. I always wondered who Breanna would end up with. Spending time with Breanna and Boone in Oregon for a couple of days was such a privilege. Breanna has met her match in her thirst for adventure, her love for wine, her enjoyment of the outdoors, as well as her adoration for kitty cats. :) Boone makes this girl come alive in new ways and it’s so beautiful to witness. And both of them are in the healthcare industry working for a dialysis center, Breanna a dietician and Boone and RN.
Boone, thanks for taking care of my friend. I am THRILLED for you both and am so ecstatic about your winery wedding in April that I get to attend not as a photograhper! :-) I love you guys a lot. Here’s to do a lot more life together! Even if sometimes we only get the big stuff right. ;-)
With love and joy,
René
It should be noted that this shoot is a little bit out of the ordinary, and it may seem little sporadic. We shot over the course of two days in three primary locations: 1.) downtown to the place they call home: Grants Pass, Oregon. 2.) Southern Oregon’s Applegate wine country and 3.) in the lush Oregon mountains where these two love to mountain bike. Enjoy!
