Encouraging Others

Good morning, Friday! I come to you with a peaceful heart.  A filled cup.  A very clean office and desk.  Life just feels good.  Put together.  My ducks are in row.

And it feels great.

This morning I spent a little QT on the porch swing with my Bible and Jesus Calling book.  And also this fun little Q&A book that asks you a fun question everyday for 5 years.  But anyhow, I just enjoyed the cool morning and smell of fresh air.  In fact, that was my silly little question day, “What can you smell right now?”

One of the verses in Jesus Calling this morning was about encouraging others:  “He died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him.  Therefore encourage one another and build each other up.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:10-11

And it just made me think of one of our sweet, sweet couples: Ashton and Mike.  I try to encourage others.  Loving on people is my purpose.  And it is really encouraging for me to have that love reciprocated.

The other day, I received a big package in the mail.  It was from Ashton and Mike.  In it were two Venti sized coffee mugs and two Starbucks gift cards and note that said, “Here is a little something to keep you two going through wedding season.”

:-)

Mike and Ashton, thank you for your thoughtfulness.  Jesie and I *love* our mugs.  Trust me, they are a HUGE aid in getting through this month. :-)  Thank you for being so kind and encouraging!  You definitely filled my cup, as they say.  I cannot wait for your wedding next week! It’s going to be epic.

So much love and joy to you guys,
René

How are you going to encourage someone today??
