Seattle Engagement: Lauren & Justin

I heard this song the other day. A song about love.  It’s called Sailboats.  It talks about two people being together and being adrift on a sailboat. Her love is the sea, his love is the horizon – strong and steady.  The artist sings of her mate lifting her lonesome sails, as he makes the bitter sweet.  Together, they’re sailing through life.  The tide is out and the moon is high and together they’re sailing.

And one day, when time gets the best of them, and they succumb to the decrepitude, still their love will remain in its youth.  Still, they will continue sailing.

Justin and Lauren, this is my prayer for you.  I couldn’t help but think of you when I heard this song.  The love that you share is so pure, so innocent, and so full of life.  In the many years to come, may you always work at maintaining this youthful love.  I am blessed to know you and share this time of life with you.  It has been such a pleasure getting to know your hearts over the last few months.  I’m privileged to know you and your families.  Thank you for having me to Seattle; we’re looking forward to continuing west and shooting your wedding in Maui.

We started amidst all the hustle and bustle that is the Pike Place Market.

Love these true candids.

We ventured out onto the streets where we discovered these lively musicians.

This is Justin and Lauren.  They are like this all the time.

Love this one!!

Peoples’ reactions are priceless.

And then there was this wall…

Oh, Lauren, Lauren, Lauren…

Love these guys!

Stunning!

After the market, we were off to Kerry Park to get some neat views of the city!

Ze Space Needle, ladies and gentlemen.

The lovely Mount Rainier.

And then we were in a heavy pursuit, chasing light up the coast of Seattle to make it to the Golden Gardens Park, when we passed this sailboat dock.  Knowing the light was fading fast I made an gut decision and swung into the parking lot.  Best decision I ever made. :-)

Now, I’m not one to brag, but I must say, we have the prettiest brides ever.  That is all.

And our grooms aren’t too shabby either. ;-)

Ugh, love this one!

Um…. and this one!

Lauren got Justin this awesome watch as an engagement gift.

Favorite!

Honestly, who am I kidding.  I love them all. Lesson in photography, life, relationships, this blog: the best is always yet to come. Seems like the really good stuff is always towards the end.

Stunning.

Big finish by Mr. Justin.  This one could be my desktop background for years to come!

Or maybe these!

*sigh*  I’m ready to do it again! Oh wait, this is only part one of your engagement session!  Looking forward to shooting part II this month!

LOVE YOU GUYS!

    Justin,

With all the holidays and trying to finish up the semester, I haven’t had a chance to send my congrats on your engagement. Here’s wishing you both all the best. I think of you often when I’m talking to out of district students contemplating whether or not they should attend Arapahoe. You continue to be a credit to our school. Happy Holidays.
