Cañon City Engagement: Jenny & Josh

Happy Friday, friends!  Jes and I are out shooting Jenny and Josh’s wedding today, but we did want to hop on real quick and show you their recent high school themed engagement shoot from the other day.  These two met at Cañon City High School, in Sophomore Hall to be exact, and spent many, special moments at the beginning of their relationship just walking the halls of CCHS.  After four years of college in Missouri, these two are finally ready to tie the knot on this beautiful June day!

They are pretty much the sweetest, kindest couple you will ever meet.  They are so tender and soft with each other and come from families with hearts of gold.  I had the good fortune of growing up in Cañon City :-) and as a result have many, many memories with not only Jenny and Josh, but their families and everyone in their wedding party and on their guest list.  Should be an awesome day!  You know, every time I talk to Jenny or every e-mail I receive from her, in the most genuine tone, she says, “I’m really looking forward to seeing you! And please let me know if there is anything I can do for you.”  Love her.  This is the same girl who e-mailed me randomly one night, reflecting on 1st Corinthians 13:

1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

“Lately, I find myself evaluating each of these. I take each description and make a visual representation in my head of what it is, or is not. I used to find this verse cliché, it’s always at weddings and everyone always refers to it. This year it has spoken loudly to Josh and me, and I find I love learning about each phrase, and will continue to do so, forever.

And yes, Josh’s heart is equally as sweet.  I love these guys… Enjoy.

“C” for their last name.

The exact spot where Josh first approached Jenny.

Jenny is so beautiful.  I have always thought she’s the perfect definition of a natural beauty.

Josh, you’re not too shabby yourself. :-)

Shizzam! Look at that look!  Work it, Josh.

Jenny is so good at making him giggle! It’s the best.

Love these…

Favorite!

The bench at the Riverwalk where Josh asked her to be his girlfriend.

Absolute favorite!!  This one is so perfect!

The light was just soooo good.

Jenny and Josh get the gold star because they always say, “Whatever you think, René. We trust you.  We want the good light.”  It is all about the good light, friends.  I love it when our brides and grooms recognize that and give us freedom in scheduling in order to get the “good” light. :-)
