Pueblo Country Club Wedding: Samantha & Cooper – Part I

There’s those days you just wish you could relive again and again. Sammie & Cooper’s wedding day was one of those.

Sammie, Cooper, and I grew up in the same town, with the same people, and went to the same high school.  I also photographed her sister’s and brother’s weddings, so needless to say, their guest list felt like a big reunion!  It’s rare that I get to the end of a long wedding day and don’t feel drained.  But rather, I felt energized because around every corner, I ran into familiar faces and, let’s be honest, Sammie & Cooper are such a JOY to work with!

These two have come along way and mean so much to me…  I was listening to Brad Paisley’s song, Then, while editing their photos and I got a little teary-eyed thinking of their journey.  Brad sings about how he thought he loved his now-wife back then, but everyday since “then” his love for her continues to get bigger and bigger.  And it just really reminded me of these two, and how their love for each other has grown and changed so much since they had their incredibly wonderful, delightful, JOY-BOMB of a baby girl, Miss Charley.

Cooper & Sammie planned an elegant, lighthearted wedding day at the Pueblo Country Club, under towering cottonwood trees and blue skies.  Their ceremony was led by a good friend, and standing alongside them were 22 of their nearest and dearest family and friends.  Sammie wore a dress that was classy, yet free-spirited, which I think is symbolic of personality.  Cooper and his gang sported black tuxedos. The two said I Do and had the sweetest kiss I’ve ever seen, just shortly after their baby daughter found her way into their arms.

Sammie & Cooper, I appreciate you so much!  Thank you for your complete trust and friendship and allowing me to walk beside you during this once-in-a-lifetime season.  Sammie, following in your mommy footsteps has been such a blessing to me.  You are an amazing mother.  Cooper, I don’t think I saw you NOT smiling once this day —  I love that about you.  You’re pretty much always smiling. :-)  It’s been such an honor to photograph this last year with you and to work with both your families.  Thank you for being you!  I love you guys and cannot wait to see you again soon!

So much love & joy to you,
René
