As many of you may know, for the past five years I’ve had a long distance relationship with my then boyfriend-turned-fiancé-turned husband, John, as he traveled the nation and globe with the Air Force. We were intentional in dating across the distance and in not marrying within those five years of Air Force active duty, knowing it would uproot the business I’ve worked so hard to build over the last eight years… And only to move it to such tropical locales such as Clovis, New Mexico… We opted to just do the long distance thing until he separated from the Air Force.
Now the time has come for him to start a new chapter in his life. In our life. We are a team and I want stick with my husband, go where he goes, and say goodbye to the long-distance relationship I knew so well. As of Thanksgiving 2014, that new chapter began when he accepted a really incredible job opportunity in Palo Alto, California. His first day was January 5th.
With that said, I will be moving to the San Francisco Bay Area this month!
The Golden State with the Golden Gate.

And all the really great wine!

I know, it’s a bit of a shocker and things are still sinking in for me too! Moving so soon after our wedding wasn’t ever part of the plan, but this job opportunity came up and we knew we couldn’t pass up the chance to reconnect John with his passion in the tech field.
We’re really excited about this next chapter and change of scenery!
So how does this affect YOU potential and current RTP couples?
It doesn’t!
René Tate Photography will continue to be based out of Colorado Springs, Colorado (AND San Francisco now!).
* I will continue to book weddings all over Colorado – with no travel fees.
* I will come home days in advance before each currently booked wedding to assure I never miss a wedding due to weather/flight delays.
* I will keep a residence in Colorado Springs making life so easy to come and go.
Rather than having a long-distance relationship with my husband, I’ll be having one with my business.
So please continue to refer René Tate Photography to your friends and family, both in Colorado and California! And remember, no travel fees back to Colorado – just need a little more advance notice. :)
Thank you all so much for your support over the past years and thank you in advance for your support to come! It’s definitely uncharted territory, a new season, and a new chapter for René Tate Photography, but I’m confident it’s all part of a Larger Plan. :)
So much love and joy to you all,
René
A because I’ve had the chance to shoot in the Bay Area a number of times in my career, I think it’s only appropriate I share a few images here.
