Good evening! I hope it’s been a happy Monday and all us Broncos fans lived to see another day and another blue and orange sunset.
I promised goodness today, and here it is. Debuting our new blog borders are my dear, dear friends Brian and Sarah.
These two celebrated 15 years of marriage this past January. We’ve been waiting for the perfect snow day to document their love, since they were married on a perfect snow day in Golden, Colorado. This past week delivered and we went to one of my and Sarah’s favorite spots.
These two mean a lot to me. They’re the kind of people everyone needs in their lives. Like Sarah.. she’s the type of person who sends you emails like this:
Hi there friend,
I was thinking about you this morning and saying prayers that your Thanksgiving would be restful and blessed. When I think about what I am thankful for this year, you are definitely a huge blessing to me, and I am so glad for the time we have had together this year to cry and pray and live LIFE together.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Sarah
And this:
How about a mani/pedi next Thursday?
And sometimes she slips random Congrats on your engagement! Starbucks cards into my purse when I’m not looking, only to discover later. Oh how she KNOWS ME! What a great friend that is!! And when I need a shoulder to cry on or a lunch at Marigolds, she’s there. And when I need to get my savasana on, she’s also there to lead a fantastic yoga class. ;-)
Yes, she is the kind of friend every girl needs.
And Brian, he’s just a quick motorcycle away to the save that day with any project that needs fixin’ or to bring me any little hand tool I’m missing. Thanks for taking care of me! Brian also makes John laugh, so we like Brian a lot. He says really funny things, “You know what we’re doing with our unity candle? We’re BURNING IT.” And sure enough, when John and I had dinner with them, the giant wax sculpture proudly burns from the center of their kitchen table.. which will likely continue to do for the next 15 years. It’s massive!
Sarah and Brian, with our wedding around the corner, John and I feel like we’ve hit the jackpot with friends like you. We are so blessed to observe your Godly example of marriage — the way you daily lay down your lives for one another, for your children, and for your friends. Hard times have certainly not been absent, but your constant pursuit to speak the other one’s language is definitely an art John and I admire. Congratulations, friends. We hope to be as with it as you are in 15 years. :-)
With love,
René (and John)

Awesome pictures of a beautiful couple. Congratulations on 15 years. Rene captures the love and happiness so well.
Rene, We don’t deserve this beautiful gift, but thank you, a million thank you’s. You and John have the most precious spot in our lives and we are looking forward to the start to your first 15 years…very soon. We are cackling about your description of the unity candle, its SO true. Amazed that I get to do laughter and tears and dreams and everyday walks with such an amazing woman. Now, when can we go get pedi’s?
These are simply stunning.
