Good evening! TGIF!
I’m excited to share with you Gretchen and John’s wedding. These two are the definition of class.
They love their families a lot.
Gretchen’s father’s first look? To die for. Her father also gave THE sweetest toast at the reception. According to Gretchen, ” For the last 30 years, my father has packed up the dogs and his hunting gear in his Ford Pickup truck and headed to opening day [of Pheasant Season in South Dakota]. This was the first time in 30 years that he missed it. He made it a point to mention this in his speech and also pointed out that the feathers in the centerpieces ‘were not from Hobby Lobby.'”
They’re nostalgic.
On Gretchen’s bouquet, she wrapped her grandmother’s pocket watch as her “something old.” She passed away when Gretchen was 14, so it it meant a lot to Gretch to have her represented.
They’re adventurous.
John recently bought his dream car – a 1960s something (sorry John!) Corvette so naturally it was a special part of the ceremony exit.
And yes. They are classy.
Gretchen wore an elegant Saison Blanche Couture gown and John was in a classic Vera Wang tuxedo. But besides their good taste in fashion, these two just love each other a lot. It shows. I know it does because they gave me plenty of time to do their portraits and we were blessed with the most amazing light.
Gretchen and John, I know how important family is to you. I can’t wait to watch the legacy that stems from the love you’re building. You guys are the best. Thank you for being so wonderful and trusting me with you day.
So much love and joy to you,
René
