Backyard Wedding: Sarah & Eric

That day, they whisked around the house preparing for game time at 6:00pm.  Sarah in Velcro rollers, Eric in his tennis shoes, they kept moving, grateful for the help of their closest friends and family.  When Eric entered the room where Sarah had begun getting ready, in a matter of fact tone she said, “I need the strand of lights turned on in the back yard; I need the fruit salad pulled out of the fridge and…

I desperately need a kiss from you.”

I could see Eric’s stress level dissipate immediately.  His posture relaxed and his face softened as he leaned in to kiss his bride.  In the moment, I couldn’t help but say, “I love you guys,” with every bit of sincerity.

Sarah and Eric had a sweet, simple wedding in the back yard of their Colorado Springs home.  During our logistics meeting, she said, “We just don’t want to lose sight of the meaning of today.  We don’t want it to be fussy.”  And they didn’t.  It wasn’t.  It was perfect!

Sarah and Eric, you are two of a kind.  God had big plans when he was writing your stories, and I’m so glad he wrote each of them with the other in mind.  Thank you for your kindness, love, support, encouragement and, most of all, friendship.

Blessed,
Jesie

A super HUGE thank you goes out to Rach of Tom ‘n Rach Photography for being my wingwoman!  Rach, I LITERALLY could not have done it without you!  Your hustle, positive attitude, creative eye were MORE than I could have asked for!  Thank you!

Sarah had two sets of shoes and jewelry for the day.  The first part of their day consisted of lunch with their guests, then Eric and Sarah went back inside, changed, and came out ready for a wedding ceremony. :-)

Sarah’s father passed away a few years ago.  In honor of veterans, he used to always have a flower of remembrance hanging from his review mirror.  In honor of her father, she wore them in her hair, and Eric as a boutonniere.

Jesie and Rachel – you are our heroes! You managed to put the tenderness and excitement of that day into images that we will cherish forever. My father-in-law said you both seemed like good friends of ours, like family. You are! Photography is important to both of us. But, seriously… when your images bring a former wedding photographer (Eric) to tears with the pics of himself and his bride – you know you’ve passed the highest test. We love you!
