There’s something extra special about photographing people you already know and love, and I was so excited to have Robbie Anne and Scott’s family in front of my camera this September! I originally met them through the gym and our church, and it was such an honor when they trusted me with their first big family portrait session.
Scott and Robbie Anne wanted to surprise Scott’s mom with family portraits for her birthday while she was visiting from Georgia, which made the session even more meaningful. With two lively little girls and their sweet one-year-old baby boy, there was plenty of personality, movement, and love to photograph.
They hadn’t done many professional family portraits outside of newborn photos when their girls were babies, so this session felt like such a wonderful opportunity to document this particular season of life — three little ones, growing quickly, exactly as they are right now.
And goodness, did everything come together beautifully. The September light was absolutely perfect, and their light, airy wardrobe of soft neutrals and muted greens photographed beautifully against the Colorado landscape. It was one of those evenings where the light, colors, and family connection all worked together effortlessly.
I’m so grateful Robbie Anne and Scott trusted me to preserve this season for them, and to create something special for Grandma’s birthday, too. These are the photographs that become more meaningful with every passing year: a little boy who won’t stay one for long, two energetic girls who will grow up before anyone is ready, and a family together in one beautiful frame.
Because this season doesn’t stay. But the photographs can.
