I don’t take on every wedding that comes my way. Most of my clientele is in Colorado, while I reside in Arizona. Plus I am a new mom with a toddler and another kiddo on the way, so I’m pretty picky about with whom I spend my time and energy. I covet that family time. But when Carrie & Shane’s inquiry came through my inbox, I had a feeling this is a wedding I was going to want to be a part of!
These two are bright, happy souls, who both love the Lord immensely. They got engaged in a barn, where she thought she was going wine tasting; Shane surprised her at the end of a rose lined path with their parents hidden watching it all unfold. They are also getting married at a barn (Crooked Willow Farms!), and having a donkey serve beer to their guests. Their first date was Top Golf (*insert heart here*!) and would rather be at a brewery than dinner and a movie. Love them.
Speaking of barns, it’s only appropriate that their engagement photos happened to begin at a barn as well. Carrie & Shane discovered this brand new open space that Douglas County recently acquired called Sandstone Ranch Open Space in Larkspur, Colorado. After so much rain, the place was green as green can be! And right before their shoot, I saw a bull elk bolt through the meadows. But when they arrived, the wind began to blow so hard, this little lean-to barn was the only shelter we could find! So we started there until things simmered down.
Shane & Carrie, I just love your hearts! I have the best couples. :-) Thank you for letting me walk this small part of your story with you. I cannot wait for next September and to see you as a bride & groom!! Next time we get together, I vote for Top Golf.
Love you guys!
Adventure awaits,
René
