When a potential bride meets with you and says she studied in Sienna, Italy, is marrying an Air Force officer, loves to paint, loves the Colorado mountains, and is planning a Colorado-Tuscan themed wedding, you know it’s a match made in heaven.
At least I did.
Oh, and let’s not forget the fact that she wanted romantic, timeless, soft, light and airy wedding photography. Check! Definitely a match made in heaven.
Sarah is a girl after my own heart and her now husband, Mikey, and I are totally buddies as we have a mutual desire to send our kids to the Air Force Academy. *high five* I love them. And I just adored their day — rain and all!
These two were married this August at the most stunning venue, Spruce Mountain Ranch, in pure Italian fashion: chianti wine, the most delicious Italian dinner, lots of family, and serenades with Italian tunes like That’s Amoré. Every floral arrangement by the talented Lauren of Quintessential was packed with an Italian staple, rosemary, so everywhere you walked in Albert’s Lodge was so beautifully aromatic, I actually felt like I was in Italy.
If there ever was a sweeter bride than Sarah and a more easy-going groom than Mikey, I’d like to meet them. These two offered complete and utter trust their team and I know I speak for us all when I said what a tremendous gift that was. Unfortunately, most of the day was covered in rain, but we did manage to sneak outside for a few portraits when we needed to (hallelujah!), but the ceremony was moved inside. Sarah & Mikey handled it with total grace and were happy to just marry their best friend.
Mikey & Sarah, I cannot thank you enough for having us photograph your day — a day layered in rich family and cultural history, and love. It’s one I won’t soon forget. And you know the best part? We’re going to be neighbors soon! John and I cannot wait to have you over for Italian feasts and lemoncello by the pool. Congratulations, sweet friends. Here’s to the first day of the next 50 years!
Be blessed.
With love & joy,
René
