Oh man, am I the luckiest or what?? Kenz & Alex have been married FIVE YEARS this month and celebrated with not only a trip to Hawaii, but an epic anniversary session on the highest paved road in America, where mountain views make your jaw drop. They are one of my absolute favorite RTP couples and I just feel so darn blessed to be apart of their story and to get to photograph them again!
These two value photography and documenting various stages in life. They’ve told me in the past that they’d look through their engagement and wedding photos nearly every day for years as a form of encouragement during tough times. Because let’s be honest, like is not always a cake walk. Life is really hard sometimes, expectations versus reality, our plan versus ours… but these two, rather than being driven apart by a wedge that is life, are drawn closer together with each passing year. Their love matures each year as they learn to really rely on and support one another. You’ll see how much love and joy these two are filled with too. They are the best. My favorite part about them is the tenderness and respect with which they treat each other.
Trail Ridge Road is amazing; it connects Grand Lake to Estes Park, and is only open a couple of months out of the year. The majority of it runs through Rocky Mountain National Park, so you can imagine all the wildlife and prettiness that abounds. After living in California for the last couple of years, I’ve been so spoiled with that buttery, yummy sunset light. Turns out, I found it also waiting for me at the top of 12,000′ mountains. *sigh*. So gorgeous.
Kenz & Alex, words can’t really express how much I love you two. Thank you for allowing me in on this part of your journey. The best is yet to come!
With love & joy,
René
