Oooh happiest Monday to you! It is June so that only means one thing: wedding season is upon us!
I’m so excited to share with you the first wedding of the summer, which coincidentally happens to be the start of my TENTH summer photographing weddings. What a DREAM! But that’s a story for another day. :-)
Today we look at Erin & Davis’ emotional day. These two got married in Boulder, Colorado at the cozy Wedgwood on Boulder Creek and did their first look at Betasso Preserve up Boulder Canyon Road. If I had to define this wedding in three words, I’d say: intention, family, and Christ.
Everything about their day was so intentional. From the cards she wrote to everyone (me included!), to the song she sang to Davis, and the way they washed each other’s feet, every drop of this day was soaked in prayer and intentionality.
Furthermore, family was a huge part of this day. Gifts were given, letters were read, family was honored in gorgeous mountain portraits before the ceremony, and then after the ceremony too. My favorite part of the night was the song Erin dedicated to her grandparents, married for 63 years, who never had a first dance. Watching her watch her legacy was the most touching for me and a brilliant reminder of why I do what I do. Erin, someday that will be your granddaughter watching you & Davis dance, gushing tears of joy. :-)
Lastly, and this was my prayer for the day, this wedding magnified Christ. Communion was served by Davis & Erin and their parents to all their guests, every piece of the day was covered in prayer, and God was worshipped during their ceremony.
Erin & Davis, this was the most beautiful day. Although, beautiful is such an understatement. Our God is amazing and your day was such an example of his love. THANK YOU for letting me be the one to walk along side you and document the start of your next sixty three years. ;-)
SO much love & joy to you both!
