Today is a good day!
I’m so excited to share Samantha and Alex’s dazzling engagement shoot in Chicago with you! I met Samantha and Alex at the GORGEOUS, magazine-worthy wedding of Rebecca and Dave. You may remember Becca as the girl with flowers in her hair? :) Sam and Alex were both in the wedding. Alex and Dave both worked as lighting guys (gaffers, electricians, etc.) on the TV set of Chicago Fire. They always had late nights working on a television show, so the girls back at home hung out a lot and developed a bridesmaid-worthy friendship. :-)
It was such an honor to be able to photograph these two around the city they call home. Alex’s dad is a professional photographer, Sam is a creative jewelry maker, and Alex is no stranger to photography and its elements of lighting and composition. I feel the bars were set pretty high. :-) I really enjoyed watching these two interact. The way Alex tries to make her laugh, the way Samantha kind of rolls her eyes at him, followed by a chuckle, but in the end how they both just meld into one another in a state of peace. You’ll see it in the first vertical of them with the city skyline in the background.
Sam and Alex, thanks SO much for hanging out, putting together amazing outfits, and sharing some of the best BBQ I’ve ever had in my life! We can do that again and again and again. :-)
