Oh how I love to get off the beaten path!
This is definitely one of my favorite engagement sessions to date. :-) All Jenn told me was that she wanted to capture her beautiful Colorado mountains before she and Rich moved for the Air Force to Massachusetts. So, as always, I’m taking notes whenever I’m out and doing a road trip and I remembered having my breath taken away one summer as John and I drove over Loveland Pass after a weekend away in Keystone. Mental note: do photo shoot here someday.
Thankfully, as most of my couples are, J&R were up for an adventure and totally trusted me! They came from Westminster and I from Colorado Springs to Keystone where we met for a quick brewski. I’d never met Rich before since he’s been in Korea for a year! After that we just drove over the pass and stopped a few places I’d previous scouted that afternoon. The light is even more incredible at 12,000 feet.
And oh yeah, Jenn came to me with this OLD photograph of her grandpa in his military uniform. She said how desperately and most importantly she wanted images like that of Rich. Ideal client alert! Someone who values timeless photography and the story it tells for future generations. So at the end of this post, you’ll see part II where we shot the next morning together in his uniform. Such a classic!
Rich and Jenn, you two are my faves. Love you guys to the moon and back. Thanks for bearing 12,ooo’ and that 45 degree temp there at the end! Can’t wait to see you again soon. Hopefully on the east coast? :-)
With love and joy,
René
