TGIF! It’s been pretty quiet here on the blog after returning from Megan and Mike’s epic elopement in Turks & Caicos. I tell you, planning a wedding and setting the foundation for a great year of RTP is a lot of work. :) No one ever really tells you just how many details there are in planning your own wedding, how many decisions there are to make. Sometimes I wish we were eloping! :-)
Megan and Mike had the most intimate wedding – I can’t WAIT to show you those images! But first, a few from their casual portrait session. Photographically speaking, this is a special shoot on the RTP blog. It’s special because they were shot at 2 o’clock in the afternoon. Typically, we shoot just a couple of hours before sunset, with the rare exception of maybe a sunrise shoot. However, in order to capture that phenomenal turquoise water in Turks and Caicos, one has to shoot when the sun is over head illuminating the sea. #harshlight, right? Thank goodness for all the pretty natural reflectors of the white sandy beaches. We were able to get the sun just a bit to their backs, removing most of the shadows from their faces.
Mike, Megan and I met up at my resort in Leeward and then headed to the nearby conch-shell-filled beach of Grace Bay. And boy was it bright. ISO 100 the whole way, baby. From there we ventured into town for a quick ice-cream break and then onto one of the most gorgeous beaches I’ve ever seen Long Bay Beach. You can wade out hundreds of yards and the water only comes to your chest. It’s a little eerie how far out you can go.
Megan and Mike got engaged last August in Turks so it was a no brainer that their elopement would occur there. More on these two on their wedding post. For now, enjoy the eye candy that is Megan and Mike and the serenity of Turks’ turquoise seas.
Happy Friday!
With joy,
René
