Sometimes, you plan and plan and plan, and despite all that planning things just don’t work out… the way you planned.
But sometimes things do work out.
You dream, hope, wish, and plan. And sometimes, you get exactly. what. you. want.
I received an email from Brice months ago inquiring about engagement photos in March. He and Cara were planning far in advance as they both live in Oklahoma but were visiting family in Colorado. “Cara really wants snow,” he said. Hmm… late March. It could 75 degrees and sunny or the opposite in Colorado. As this April has proven to us, you just don’t really know what to expect.
So we scheduled our shoot on higher grounds in Divide. We started in Old Colorado City just to warm up and grab some coffee. And boy did we warm up. Not only was it t-shirt kind of weather, but we made some stunning images with all sorts of great colors and BALLOONS, people. From Old Colorado City, we headed west and into the mountains on a quest to find snow. Any snow. Even a patch of snow in the shade on the north side of a hill would do. We’d take whatever we got.
But sometimes you don’t just get what you get… you get what you want.
The SECOND Cara stepped in front of my camera in the mountains… snow began to fall. Real snow, I tell ya!
And it kept falling.
And falling.
My girl wanted some snowy engagement images and snowy she got.
Cara and Brice, thank you for such a blast of an evening and for including me on your wedding journey. I’m honored to have been a part of it all. I wish you so much joy in the future. Keep loving the way you do. And here’s to dreams coming true and getting exactly. what. you. want. in life and love.
xoxo,
René
P.S. Does anyone think Cara looks a little Carrie Bradshaw here??
