Good morning, good morning. It’s a beautiful Tuesday, the day is coming alive, the sun is bright. I’m parked at Cafe Velo enjoying one of their stellar Americanos and contemplating relationships.
You would think that the dreamers would find the dreamers and the realists would find the realists. But more often than not, I’m finding that the opposite is true. Opposites really do attract. Maybe we’re not opposite in every way, but we’re strong in ways the other is weak. In my eyes, that’s what makes the world go ’round. Everyone needs their balancing force.
For Marne, Arthur is hers. When life gets nutty, work is pain, or she’s running just a few minutes late to their tee time, like many of us females, she tends to think the sky is falling. You know it’s true, we all have a tendency to go all Henny Penny on those around us, running around with our arms in the air, “The sky is falling! The sky is falling!”
But thankfully, Cocky Locky enters the picture, with his wisdom, sense of security, and without passing judgement. He swoops her up, and lets her know it’s really all going to be okay. Reminding her that the sky hasn’t fallen yet. That’s Arthur. Calm, wise, and cool as a cucumber.
Meet: Marne & Arthur
We met up on a gorgeous fall afternoon in downtown Colorado Springs at the swanky, new Wyndam. Marne looked smashing as always. Arthur, a terrific sport, per the usual. We shared a couples drink. Them: wine and scotch. Me: hot tea. I pretty much did not have a voice, but we pressed on. From the Wyndam, we stopped at the Melting Pot where these two had their first date and now are such frequent visitors, the staff knows them by name. We ended our time together at The Club at Flying Horse where we were transported into what felt like Tuscany. I hope you enjoy getting to know these two. I’m very much looking forward to their September wedding at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo!
Marne and Art, for the record, I think there’s more to you than Chicken Little and Cocky Locky. I’m delighted every time we hang out and I cannot wait to get to know you two even better. I don’t know about you, but I plan on a few summer nights of bocce ball and good wine. And the exchange of haircare product tips and tricks. Me and Marne, of course. ;-) Love you two.
With joy,
René
