It was about this time, as I write, four years ago that I was walking out of the Altitude Restaurant thinking, “Welp, he’s probably just going to be a friend who helps me through all my guy problems.”
Four years later, he is my friend. My best friend.
And I do tell him all my guy problems, only now he’s the guy. :-)
I had no idea what I was getting myself into four years ago. For a girl who swore she’d never date military, I’ve already endured three deployments and miles and miles of separation. Little did I know, they’d be such disguised blessings. We’ve had more ups than downs, global adventures from all four corners of the USA to Europe to Australia. We’ve endured tearful goodbyes and tearful hellos. Emergency rooms and church sanctuaries.
He is everything I’ve ever prayed for in a man. And it’s not always easy. But we are forgiving and we never, never, never give up. I consider myself the luckiest girl on the planet to have such a patient, tender, and graceful man. Who is also wildly witty and intelligent. :-)
Happy 4 years, sweetheart. You are my balancing force.

Your Baby Girl
