Sometimes you just gotta roll with the punches.
Sometimes you drive four hours for an engagement shoot and upon your arrival it starts raining cats and dogs. And doesn’t stop.
So what’s a girl to do?
Why, go shopping of course!
The night I arrived in Apsen, yes, it was pouring. I met up with Stephanie and Peter for the first time ever, greeted them with hugs, and we quickly decided on a sunrise shoot. Stephanie graciously offered me a night at her house and seeing I didn’t come prepared (tisk, tisk) was sure to inform me that all the stores were closing in a half an hour. Needless to say, these two get the gold star as we headed into the Gap for a whirlwind shopping trip of warm clothes for our sunrise shoot, pajamas, and other… unmentionables. ;-)
After our shopping trip we had one of the best dinners and conversations, followed by some good ol fashioned frozen yogurt. What’s amazing about this string of unexpected events is that from the moment we met, I felt instantly at ease. Isn’t that the photographer’s job? To make the couple feel at ease? In this case, the tables were turned and I felt like I’d know these two for YEARS. Our conversations simply rolled off our tongues so carefree and easily.
Stephanie and Peter, you two really are the definition of “easy going”. Thank you for rolling with the punches, braving the early morning alarm clock, and shooting around the chilly Maroon Bells. I can confidently say you’re going to have a hard time getting rid of me. :-) I adore you two. Adore. Thank you for being you.
With love,
René
