Good morning and happy Tuesday! If you’ve ever been a bride of our or have come to a consultation, you know we give you a little gift bag of a few of our favorite things. And inside that includes a brown mesh pouch that includes our favorite vendors. These are vendors who I would recommend for my own wedding. I thought it was about time y’all got a formal introduction to some of my favorite people. So every Tuesday, we’re going to highlight one of our favorite vendors.
Up first today is Miss Danielle Odil of Entwined Planning. We met her a few years ago at Tonya and JPs wedding and were so impressed by her. She was so easy to work with, so organized, and always johnny-on-the-spot. It is my pleasure introduce you to her. If you haven’t hired a planner or at least a day of coordinator, I highly recommend miss Danielle of Entwined Planning.
You used to Something Classic Events and recently rebranded as Entwined Planning. Can you tell us the difference and why you chose Entwined?
When I started Something Classic Events, I was fresh out of college and married for 6 months. I wanted brides to think of creating a day that would be “classic” and timeless. I also wanted to play on the tradition of something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue… so out came Something Classic. Over the years I came to find that Something Classic Events didn’t fit me anymore. I wanted brides to create something that was classic and timeless but also very much them, and not what others thought those words meant. After experiencing well over 100 weddings and starting my own family, I realized that a wedding day is more than creating something classic or trendy, it is about entwining two lives together into one and bringing two families together. It is about you being you, not something traditional or even something classic, unless that is you. It should be about weaving aspects of both lives together into a fabulous event!
Tell us about the importance of hiring a professional wedding planner VS a friend? What do most couples overlook?
When I meet with prospective clients, one of the things I tell them is “if you want to hire someone would you be willing to sue?” It sounds harsh, but for me, it is the truth. If you hire a friend to do anything at your wedding and it went wrong, would you be able to sue them? Is it worth ruining or losing a friendship over? And most of all, wouldn’t you want that friend to be able to ENJOY that day with you? They should be there as a friend, not as a photographer, florist, coordinator, DJ, or anything else. They should be celebrating with you!
What range of services do you offer, wedding wise? Is there an option for the bride on a tight budget?
We offer 3 packages, but also make custom packages. The smallest package we offer is Month Of Planning. We come in during the last couple months of planning and wrap up all the details. The biggest one we offer is full service. We take care of it all!! We work with all kinds of brides with all kinds of budgets. We want them to know the importance of having someone there to take the burden off of them and their families, so they can truly be present in every moment of the day.
You have an educational background in business, marketing, and even event planning. What are some the important pieces you implement from your education?
I have a degree is Business Administration and that has helped guide me in which direction to take my business. It taught me how to problem solve and organize my priorities. The accounting classes I took have helped me with book and record keeping. The non-events I worked on during my college years gave me insight into organizing people and vendors, logistics, and trouble shooting. However, no degree can teach you how to run your business completely. I’ve learned quite a bit from other business owners and networking with other vendors.
Is there new and fun wedding trend that you’re excited about in 2012?
Some trends I am noticing are muted/pastel colors, ombre palattes, chevron patterns, color blocking, and Super 8 film. Some trends that are still popular are dessert bars in lieu of traditional cakes, photobooths, DIY personalized items, rustic barns, and food stations. We love making the event personal to the bride and groom and we are willing to try anything!
Favorite part of the wedding day?
My favorite part of the wedding day is when the bride walks down the aisle and the father/daughter dance. I have two girls of my own, and I can’t help to think of their wedding day and it brings tears to my eyes. I think I have shed a tear at every single wedding I have done when these two things happen. I can’t help it!
Describe your personality in three words.
Outgoing, funny, and personable.

So cool to see you have “partnered” together in the wedding business! Danielle was an awesome coordinator; would not want anyone else to be in charge but her. :)
