Above and Beyond

So the other day I did my very first bridal show.  Well, it wasn’t really a bridal show per se, being that there was only one of each type of vendor present.  One photographer, one disc jockey, one videographer, one florist.  You get the point.  I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect, but I knew I wanted to spoil those that stopped by my table.  Naturally, fancy chocolates came to mind.

So the day before the show I stopped in Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.  The gal behind the counter was sweet.  I looked at her name tag and said, “Heather.  Assistant manager.  I’m in good hands.”  She picked a piece of cellophane, ready to take my order and grab my chocolate.  “I need about 75 truffles.”

Her face dropped.  “Oh, you need an order,” she responded putting down the cellophane paper.

“I’ll take 25 of those mint ones and 50 of the milk chocolate.  But do you think you can please drizzle some dark chocolate on those milk chocolate ones to jazz ’em up a little?”

She obliged and started to ring me up asking me to come later and pick up the order.

“What are these for?” she asked kindly.

“A bridal show,” I chimed.

“Wait a second,” she froze.  “Are you René Tate?”

Blushing I’m sure, “Yeeeees, I am….?”

“Oh my gosh! I follow your blog all the time!”  She went on to say what a fan she was and how she didn’t leave comments cause she didn’t want to be a stalker. :-)

Well Heather, if you are reading this, YOU are not a stalker, but a sweetheart!  Thank you for going ABOVE AND BEYOND on my order.  I was grinning SO big all evening after I picked up this order.  It was the coolest thing anyone’s done for me in ages!

Cause you see, folks, she didn’t just give me my 25 mint truffles and 50 milk chocolate truffles with dark chocolate drizzle like I ordered.

First, Heather gave me two chocolate covered strawberries that were TRICKED OUT in beautiful designs, with a super cute note!

And second, Heather did not just DRIZZLE chocolate.  She BEJEWELED these things with chocolate!  Wow!  Heather, you made me look so good at the show like I actually had my act together!  I owe you, girl!

I think I just found our next RTP Fan Revealed. ;-)

Love you Heather!  Keep on keepin’ on!
