Soul Sisters

So it was a few months ago when the Pinterest craze hit.  At least hit around here.  First Jesie, then me a couple of weeks later.

Now, even before I was a wedding photographer or even knew how to work a camera I was cutting pictures out of magazines and placing them in a wedding folder.  I was like 13.  You wouldn’t believe the stuff I liked then.  A few years later when I got a computer, I got in the habit of “right clicking” and “saving as…” images that I loved.  Images pertaining to weddings, that is.  I still have my ongoing wedding folder.  And it kills me that I didn’t think of Pinterest first.  Ahh…

Regardless, I joined Pinterest and I went ahead and made a “My [Someday] Wedding” board.  Just incase.  You know, I figured I was already doing the “save as” thing, I might as well have a board just incase.

Now what I didn’t realize was that my best friend who you all know and love, Jesie, happened to have a wedding board too.  Yes, a wedding board on Pinterest.  My friend who has been married for nearly three years!  But that board wasn’t for her.  I clicked on her Pinterest page and noticed that she had created one for me!  “René’s Wedding.”  haha Ay yi yi.  Now that is a good friend right there.

Lemme just go ahead and say, cause I know the question is on the tip of your tongue, no I’m not engaged and don’t foresee it happening for a loooong time.

But what struck me most about Jesie’s “René’s Wedding” board was not the fact that she was already planning my wedding, but the fact that we both had such similar tastes.  I’ll never forget the night she sat down at my kitchen table and said, “Omg, Tater, I found your wedding dress,” and pulled out her phone and showed me this:

To which I said, “OMG! I just pinned the same dress on my board too!  You swear you didn’t see it on my board first?”

And that’s why we’re in business together.

Jesie, Jesie, Jesie, you are my soul sister.  Words could never express how much I cherish you and your friendship.  Working with you is not work at all.  I get to play and take pretty pictures with my best friend.  What more could a girl ask for?  Thank you for listening to me gush about John, for always pretending to enjoy my latest iTunes downloads on our road trips to weddings, and for laughing at my jokes.  But mostly, thank you for believing in this dream.  In the bigger picture.  Thank you for believing in marriage and for loving people.

You are the BEST!

xoxoxoxoxo,
Tater
