Denver Engagement: Elise and Jon

Love stories…

They’re all different.  People come from all sorts of walks of life.  From all different parts of the world.  Under all kinds of various circumstances.

Love stories…

There’s no right or wrong way to write one. For some people, they meet and then years later discover feelings for one another.  Others, they meet and fall fast and hard.  Some date for a decade before marriage.  Some for weeks.  Some even take a break for a while.

In the case of Jon and Elise they went fast.  Jon says he knew from day one, conversation one that she was it.  A little over a year later, here we are.  Elise and Jon’s wedding is actually this weekend!  Both Colorado natives, Jon was recently called to Mississippi with the Coast Guard.  Elise couldn’t stand to be without him and quickly followed.  They’re back in town for a week to prepare for the wedding and then headed to the Bahamas for their honeymoon, then back to Mississippi.

I met these two for the first time in June and absolutely adored them from the second we met.  We had a terrific connection and I was really hoping they felt same way.  These two are even more beautiful on the inside than they are on the outside.  We met up yesterday for a little get-to-know-you shoot before Saturday.  Nothing went according to plan, but sometimes plans are for the birds. :-)  We stumbled upon the greatest surprises and came out with one of my favorite shoots to date.

Enjoy!

With love and joy,
René

We started off at the Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield – I totally was expecting some nice trees.  That’s about it.  Little did I know this place had a corn maze, a pumpkin patch, and a really stellar old Chevy.

How do you feel about a little film grain? I really dig it.

From the Denver Botanic Gardens, we headed next door to the Chatfield Reservoir where we met a very nice man, Ben, who let us shoot on his friend’s sailboat. :-) Thanks Ben’s friend, whomever you are!  I think you’ll agree that these are quite different from the rest of the RTP archives. :-D
