July is always a crazy month.
Not only does my birthday fall in the middle of July, but it seems like I always have one or two out-of-state weddings. Not to mention, Colorado weddings. This July was particularly crazy due to yes, my birthday, some incredible Colorado weddings, a sweet biking accident resulting in some even sweeter road rash, and a wedding in Washington.
Something else I do every summer in July is help plan and lead the annual Walsworth Yearbook Camp for high school students. It’s a three day camp/workshop held in Colorado Springs for yearbook students across the state. This is my fourth summer helping with this conference. As a yearbook nerd myself, I love being a part of this. Every year we get more and more feedback for more and more photography sessions.
This year we installed a photography track, which included 10 different sessions led by me ranging from sports photography to photographing in natural and low light to manipulating photos Lightroom. I also had the opportunity to do a motivational session for all the yearbook students on one of my favorite topics: Starting With Why — discovering WHY you do what you do and what drives you.
Camp was held just last week at the beautiful Glen Eyrie Castle. I was home for a day and then jetted off to Lisa and Joe’s wedding in Washington. Here a few images that Karli from Moffat County High School snapped of me during one of my break out sessions on Photographing in Themes.
