Good afternoon! Happy Wednesday. :-) Thanks for checking back. We actually have a couple more weddings to post from our fall season. As you may have read in our What Didn’t Work and What’s Next posts, something that didn’t work for us in 2010 was trying to post alot of pictures from a wedding. We really wanted to communicate the entire story of the day to you, but honestly, when I asked myself why I didn’t like the answer. This blog is just as much about past, present, and potential clients as it is about me. On this blog, I felt obligated to tell the story of a couple’s WEDDING DAY in only two posts, when really that’s pretty difficult and a pretty big weight on my shoulders. I ended up posting images out of obligation and I hate that. So here’s my resolution: post the images I absolutey adore.
I’m taking a test run on these last couple of weddings to see if this posting method will work for 2011. I’m just selecting my favorite images from the wedding day and I don’t care if it tells the complete story of my couples’ day. Harsh, I know! I’m okay with the gaps and if a potential bride or groom wants to see the whole story of a wedding day, by all means, that’s what consultations are for. But this blog, this is just enough to whet your while, share my heart, brag on my clients, and distract you from work. ;-)
Don’t get me wrong, I love love love sharing, but we’re just going to take it down a notch. It’s a quality VS quantity thing. You know how that goes.
Phew! I hate talking about that. Without further ado, let’s talk about Candice and Will’s wedding. :-) These two dated for TWELVE years, friends. Over a decade! They’d been engaged for several years and finally tied the knot this fall. What I loved about their wedding day was the simplicity of it. These two were just there to make a commitment to each other and were not distracted by the bells and whistles of a common wedding day. Check it out:
There ceremony was held at the Hudson Gardens in Denver, which are stunning, by the way. We love shooting there.
C&W were married by two of their best friends. How great is that?
It was really important the C&W that we get nice portraits of each couple at the wedding.
It was a day filled with mini-portrait sessions. I loved it!
Love the colors in these shots!
So timeless.
Loved their getaway car! This is Will’s baby.
It was also really important to Candice that we get some great shots of her grandparents in honor of their 60th wedding anniversary.
Their reception was so awesome. It was all about hanging with the people they loved. No dancing, no tosses, no big cake cutting. Just conversing.
They did have a chocolate fondue fountain. :-)
Jes wasn’t able to shoot this wedding, so our assistant, Michael, joined us!
