I figure you can get to know a lot about a person by the time of music he or she listens to. And music is a huge part of my life. I once heard a quote about how words make you think a thought, music makes you feel a feeling, and a song makes you feel a thought. The power of song is incredible. I’m wired in such a way that music helps get me through tough times and helps me celebrate and commemorate the good ones.
You know, I secretly have a dream job to be the person who selects the soundtracks to movies. And if Jesie had a dime for every time she hopped in my car and I said, “I have a new song for us,” she’d be loaded! Same with John, “Babe, I found this song that perfectly describes us right now!” :-) So I figured, why not start sharing some of these new finds with you guys? And by new finds, I just mean new to me. Some of them are way old, like the song that’s downloading now: Easy Like Sunday Morning. I love that tune.
And I’m the type of girl who finds a good song, and then plays it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. It’s kind of dumb.
So here’s the current favorite this week.
Jesie actually discovered this song and shared it with me this week. She told me it reminded her of me and my boyfriend. Every time someone asks about him, I melt a little and nearly always say, “He’s so good….” Cause he is. He’s SO good. He makes promises he keeps. He treats me just like a gentleman should. Those are lines straight from my mouth and also, straight from the song. It’s like I wrote it or something. I remember telling my parents about him for the first time and our conversation sounded A LOT like this:
