Stanford Engagement: Eryn & Kevin

Have you ever met someone and knew INSTANTLY that you were going to be lifers?  I’m talking like first sight, first smile instant.  I felt that with Kevin and Eryn.  The first time I met them, they greeted me with hugs and the biggest smiles.  There was an immediate connection.  Kevin and Eryn are quite honestly some of THE most genuine people I have ever met.  Ever.  Like evuh-eva, Miss Jackson!  They are the kind of people you want to be around all the time.  The kind of people who you can spill your soul to and know that without a doubt you won’t be judged.  They just smile.  And relate.  And encourage.  I love these people.  We. Are. Lifers!

This is another San Francisco engagement shoot, believe it or not! Their story has God’s finger prints all over it.  Long story short, Kevin, a then Pepperdine University junior and Eryn, a southern belle college youngster from South Carolina both enrolled in a program called the Foundation for Defense Democracies (FDD) where they traveled to Tel Aviv, Israel for two weeks to study counter-terrorism.  Um… yeah.  I told you they were cool.  Their journeys to apply for the program (and their processes of getting accepted) are God-things in themselves! But as God would have it, they were accepted. There they were, 7,000 miles away from home with a cluster of students from all over the U.S. who participated in this two week adventure.  Kevin was smitten with Eryn and with the nudging of Kevin’s Pepperdine pal who was also accepted on the FDD adventure, dialogue ensued.  Sparks flew.

After several months on opposite sides of the U.S., it didn’t take long for Eryn to realize one of them needed to be proactive and get this show on the road.  She took a leap of faith and moved her life to California, enrolling in Pepperdine.  After a few years of dating, Kevin popped the question this July…

Spending the weekend in San Fran with these two kids was one of the most peaceful, uplifting, and encouraging weekends a girl could ask for.  I am undoubtedly blessed with such fantastic clients.  Er, I mean friends. :)  I cannot wait for their New Years Eve wedding in S. Carolina….

I’m only posting teeny-tiny sample of my favorite pictures BECAUSE I just discovered this nifty little slide show creator that my partner company, Pictage just released.  Kevin and Eryn are the guinea pigs in this effort.  Make sure you watch their whole shoot in the slide show below.  The only thing I can’t figure out is how to fade the music at the end.. sorry in advance for the abrupt ending. :-x

As always, my absolute favorite image to kick off this post:

Kevin’s a grad student at Stanford Law, so natually their campus seemed to be an ideal backdrop:

Okay, so Kevin’s last name is Mills… how cool is this Mills Florist place we stumbled upon? :)

Another cool coincidence worth noting.. See those windows underneath the Mills Florist sign?  Written into the dirt on those windows were the words: Roscoe’s Chicken ‘n Waffles.  It’s the restaurant where Kevin and Eryn had their first date in LA.  Wiiiild….

Drum roll, please!  Ze Slideshow:

So what do we think, friends?  Are we liking the Pictage slideshow set to royalty-free music that repeats itself over and over and has an abrupt ending? Or do you dig the the images as I’ve been posting them because they’re bigger and easier to see?  Need some feedback… Please leave your thoughts.

If any of you are wondering what the hay Pictage is, it’s my printer based in Southern California.  They do phenomenal work. If any of you work with René Tate Photography, your images and online gallery will be thru Pictage. :)
