Meet: Amber & Michael

08.12.11 portraits

Hey yo!

A few weeks ago, I met up with Amber and Michael… who’ve been married for years and who just wanted some pictures together. :-)

My favorite.  Couples in love who appreciate photography?  I’m your girl!  I’m all about these sessions.

We had such a great time shooting around their garage – which garage is an understatement because it’s so much more than a garage – it’s like a dive bar meets chic lounge meets the inside of a Snap-On truck.  It’s awesome.  And it’s easy to see why these guys chill in there in the evenings over a beer (from the Kegerator!) or a shot of Jack Daniels.

Love these guys!  Enjoy!

Cheers,
René

Boudoir

06.12.11 portraits

Ladies,

Your wedding is coming up in six or nine months.  Have you starting thinking about a gift for your soon-to-be-husband?

So that was totally way too infomercially.  But fo’ serious… Have you thought about a wedding gift for him?  We do a fair amount of Boudoir Experiences each year and I think it’s time we start gearing up for 2012.  These are such amazing experiences for any woman, engaged or not.

Let’s just get real for a second.  Okay?  Look.  In all seriousness, I, who am not engaged, married, etc., am getting some done in a couple months. For me and only me.  Elegant, beautiful, graceful images.  I want to capture life as a twenty-something, cause I’ll never be this young again.   Aaaand, I think it’s only fair I experience what YOU experience being on the other side of the camera.  :-)

So I ask you this, wouldn’t it be cool, if you opened an old dresser drawer and in the back, tucked in a crevasse, you found a 6×6″ distressed print from the 1930s… of your grandmother, in her prime!, showing off her long, beautiful legs and her youthful smile?

I kind of think it would!

I rest my case.

XOXO,
René

Meet: Sadie

23.09.11 portraits

Hey there!  Happy Friday!  Today, we have a special little treat for you.

You see, we believe in specializing.  Specializing in weddings so that we can be the best wedding photographers we can be.  However, as many of you know, I’m a big fan of deviating from weddings once in a while and doing a project that inspires us in a different way than weddings can.

And what I mean is a good old fashioned senior portrait session does wonders for the soul.

How could I say no to Sadie who came all the way from Green River, Wyoming, a six-hour drive, to have us shoot her senior portraits?   That is love, Sadie.  That is love.  Thank you!

I adore you, and had such a blast with you and your family.

Best of luck this year!  Soak it up.
René

P.S.  Any advice for Sadie in her senior year of high school??  Leave her some tips in that green comment box!

The technical difficulty of this last picture is off the charts. Nice work, so peaceful.

Sadie, you’re adorable! Great photos, RT! Advice: senior year can feel like the culmination of so much, but it’s truly just the beginning. Keep your eyes wide open, and go get the future that was created for you!

Beautiful pictures! Sadie, I would tell you to make sure you choose your path based on what YOU want to do. Not your parents, not your friends…you. It may seem hard now, but you’ll appreciate that in the future.

Beautiful photos! Sadie: enjoy every minute – take every opportunity to have fun, to learn, to grow – laugh at the good times and also laugh at the bad – know that no matter where the future takes you, you’ll always stay friends with those who matter most. Congrats!
