In the midst of our rebrand this year, we realized three things embody René Tate Photography: first and foremost, we believe in marriage. Second, travel that makes your heart beat. And lastly, building a legacy that will impact forever.
We believe the René Tate couple is undeniably adventurous. They believe in always taking the scenic route, in watching more sunsets than Netflix, and that marriage is the grandest adventure of all.
Christy & Josh embody all of this.
They two opted for a classically, romantic destination wedding in Playa Mujeres, Mexico. (And you may even recognize this stunning couple from Josh’s sister’s wedding, Sarah & Nick, last summer.) They said their vows on the beach at sunset, overlooking the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea, and danced under the stars and rustling palm trees. There was even a little bit of rain…. okay, a lot of rain… but that didn’t put a damper on the party as you will soon see in Part II, which includes some of my favorite reception images ever.
What I loved most about their day was not only was it a photographer’s dream (wait until you see Christy’s bridal portraits!), but the tight knit relationships between their friends and families. From the way Josh’s grandma kept tearing up throughout the day as she watched Christy get ready, to the inseparable wedding party – many of whom were couples, to the first looks that the couple invited their families and friends to watch.
Josh & Christy, international travel is always an adventure, but marriage is the grandest adventure of them all. And I am so thrilled for you. Thank you for inviting me to join you during this season of life. Your trust throughout this process is the best gift you can give to a photographer. Thank you! To J&C’s wedding party and families — thank you for being such a blast to be with and the constant love & affirmation!
