Backyard Comfort Meets Elegance

20.02.12 extravagant details, the latest & greatest, weddings

Good evening!  We have a treat for you! You’ve seen glimpses of it at the top of this blog or on my Facebook timeline, now see the whole picture… a René Tate Photography Inspired Shoot.

A couple of weeks ago, Jesie and I put our heads together to create a styled shoot that just oozed René Tate Photography. Not only did we need some new images for our blog facelift, but we also did this to inspire us and inspire you.

This is us.  From our colors, to our furniture, to my grandparents’ wedding photos, to our clients-turned-friends.  We chose to feature Scott and Alicia – a couple we photographed in October 0f 2011 – for a few reasons.  A.) They embody our ideal clients – more on that later.  B.) They’re not bad to look at. ;-) and C.) These two got about 5 minutes of “bride and groom portrait time” during their wedding day cause their day was incredibly cold and windy so it couldn’t hurt to have a few more images of them – olive green adorned or not.

We want to give a special shout out to Amber and Catherine from Twigs and Posies for creating such gorgeous floral arrangements!  We couldn’t have done this shoot without them.

Enjoy these and leave us some love!  We’d really like to hear your thoughts.

With Joy,
René

FYI, I am surprisingly digging the lace details of the RTP look!! You know me, not normally one for frills, bows, pink, tulle, or lace…but surprisingly, I really am starting to secretly enjoy it :-)

You’re right, it does tell of RTP…the beauty, intimacy, and love all captured and honored. Works of art, every one.

Sunday Sneak Peek: Victoria & Tom

19.02.12 Sunday Sneak Peek

Good morning! Happy Sunday!  I’ve been enjoying a lazy morning here with a homemade mocha coffee and little Pinterest perusing.  I’m about to head to church in a bit but had to share a few images of Tory and Tom’s wedding.   Such an elegant and perfect day — I can’t wait to share the rest.

xoxo,
René

Good morning!

We’re about to head out to the beautiful Broadmoor for Victoria and Tom’s wedding, but I wanted to hop on real quick and share this feature from Villa Parker about the spirit of Valentine’s Day.  They featured Gloria and Nicky Cruz on their 50th wedding anniversary which Jesie and I were so honored to have photographed.

We adore Villa Parker.  It’s one of the finest wedding venues in Colorado and we are just elated to be invited as one of their 7 preferred photographers.  They have such a close knit group of preferred partners — we can’t wait to start working more everyone on their list.

Enjoy!

Facelift!

16.02.12 the latest & greatest

Today was a big day.  On many levels.

First, we updated the look of this blog for the first time since 2009.  It’s a little lighter, yet is still in touch with the mothership: ReneTate.com.  We’ve simplified our menu bar to just include our categories, my and Jesie’s biographies, a connect form, a link to our main site, and a link to sign up for our NEW newsletter! More information about the René Tate Wedding Experience can be found at ReneTate.com. You’ll notice that the site features images of the beautiful Alicia and Scott wearing their favorite RTP colors.  The images cycle though each time you refresh the blog. :-) There’s also an updated image of Miss Jesie and yours truly.

Secondly, I joined Pinterest.  Yes, Pinterest.  I feel a little silly saying it out loud.  And for the longest time I wasn’t sure what it was all about and thought design boards were silly.  But what I’ve found in the little time I’ve spent on it thus far is that Pinterest definitely helps define my style in a very succinct way.  Keep watching my boards, cause they’re not quite up to snuff yet!  We decided we liked it so much that we wanted to give you the ability to Pin images from our blog.

Now, there are two ways to do that.

1.) Install Pinterest’s Bookmarklet into your web browser. It’s super easy and super awesome.

or 2.) Click the “Pin It” button beneath each post.  Only thing is, the creators of the Pin It button have some work to do.  Currently, when you click “Pin It” only ONE select image from each post gets pinned to your Boards.  We realize it’s about pinning exactly what you want, so we’re going to give the creators of the Pin It button sometime to perfect this flaw, and it doesn’t give us the flexibility we want we’ll eventually  remove it.  But it’s a a step in the right direction and we love that.

Lastly, today was a big day because I finally upgraded to Facebook’s timeline.

Dang.  My entire social media world has been transformed! It’s like a whole new world.

Hope you love all these snazzy little updates as much as we do.  We’re growing and progressing and this is just one piece of the puzzle!

XOXO,
René (+Jesie)

The wonderful and amazing Ben Lew made this design a reality.  You can see more of his work at BenLew.com.  You’ll notice at the top of each post, you’ll see who posted it, me or Jesie. :-) Be looking for more blogs by sweet Jesie.

And this is the updates to our comment bar.  You can now follow René Tate Photography on Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter.  In addition, on there right you can share each specific post on Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter.

And on the main site, ReneTate.com as well as this blog, we’ve added a contact form just for photographers
and one geared more towards clients.

Lastly, our mailing list is operational and we’re excited to start sending you updates, specials, and anything that’s not quite appropriate to share on the blog but still you’ll wanna know about.  So sign up!
**** The first 50 people to sign up will be entered to win a $25 Starbucks Gift Card. Click here to sign up!

So what are you thoughts?!  Hopefully you’ll enjoy looking at this blog even more now that it’s refreshed a bit. :-)
