Sneak Peeks: Estes Park and Larkspur

26.09.11 weddings

Good afternoon!  Happy Monday!  I’m taking a little downtime today after a double header weekend.  Our first wedding of the weekend was Diana and Jim’s perfect day in Estes Park.  The weekend continued with Alanna and Alex’s gorgeous day in Larkspur.

Enjoy!

Meet: Sadie

23.09.11 portraits

Hey there!  Happy Friday!  Today, we have a special little treat for you.

You see, we believe in specializing.  Specializing in weddings so that we can be the best wedding photographers we can be.  However, as many of you know, I’m a big fan of deviating from weddings once in a while and doing a project that inspires us in a different way than weddings can.

And what I mean is a good old fashioned senior portrait session does wonders for the soul.

How could I say no to Sadie who came all the way from Green River, Wyoming, a six-hour drive, to have us shoot her senior portraits?   That is love, Sadie.  That is love.  Thank you!

I adore you, and had such a blast with you and your family.

Best of luck this year!  Soak it up.
René

P.S.  Any advice for Sadie in her senior year of high school??  Leave her some tips in that green comment box!

    Whoa! Her eyes are killer!

The technical difficulty of this last picture is off the charts. Nice work, so peaceful.

Sadie, you’re adorable! Great photos, RT! Advice: senior year can feel like the culmination of so much, but it’s truly just the beginning. Keep your eyes wide open, and go get the future that was created for you!

Beautiful pictures! Sadie, I would tell you to make sure you choose your path based on what YOU want to do. Not your parents, not your friends…you. It may seem hard now, but you’ll appreciate that in the future.

Beautiful photos! Sadie: enjoy every minute – take every opportunity to have fun, to learn, to grow – laugh at the good times and also laugh at the bad – know that no matter where the future takes you, you’ll always stay friends with those who matter most. Congrats!

Sadie, you are beautiful! My advice…don’t change. It makes everything a TON easier :) Congratulations on graduation coming up!

Elbert, CO: Amanda and Nick – Pt II

22.09.11 weddings

We pick up part II of Amanda and Nick’s Peaceful Valley Boy Scout Ranch wedding just after they said “I do.”

This is a really unique wedding and reception… You don’t wanna miss it.

Amanda’s and Jesie grew up in Hawaii and moved to Colorado in their early teens where they got heavily involved in rodeo.  Such life experience inspired a hula to Brad Paisley’s Oh Love, dedicated to the grandparents.
It was a rainy night…

But the rain really didn’t hinder a thing.  It literally poured all night and the dancing never ceased.

Elbert, CO: Amanda and Nick – Pt I

21.09.11 weddings

We are on a roll over here with our wedding blogs.  The last three weddings have been out of state, but today, we bring you back to the great state of Colorado with a very, very special wedding.

So many of you have complimented Jesie’s wedding images.  Well.  Just you wait until you see her sweet, baby sister and brother-in-law’s. I say that not because the photography is any better or worse, but because this wedding is so unique it’ll make you want to get married all over again and have Amanda and Jesie’s mom style it. :-)

Oh, by the way, I forgot to mention Amanda and Nick’s wedding was at the same venue as Jesie and Brandon’s, and their brother Levi and his wife’s, Amber.  It’s amazing how multi-faceted the Peaceful Valley Boy Scout Ranch of Elbert, Colorado can be!  Every wedding was entirely different.

Amanda and Nick, you make me feel like family!  Thank you for being so, so, so kind to me.  I felt like I was just hanging out with the fam for a day and happened to take a few photos. :-)  Can’t wait to hang out with you at more Jerrold family functions.

A special thank you to Joyana Jensen for helping me out, while Jesie was off doing her maid of honor duties. :-)

So much love and joy to you, Amanda and Nick.  And Amanda, I still get to borrow your veil, right?

With love,
René

It’s a Jerrold family tradition to start off a wedding day with a time of prayer.
And yes, that’s Jesie in those sweet curlers. ;-)

Two of Amanda’s sister-in-laws.  You RTP veterans might remember Amber on the right.  She married Jesie’s brother, Levi.  We shot their wedding in 2008.

Love this choker that Amanda’s mom made from her own wedding dress.

That’s Amanda and Jesie’s mother in the background. :-)  She’s so awesome… you have no idea.

Amanda’s father seeing her for the first time… Ugh.. so good.

Meanwhile, the boys…

‘Manda.  You looked absolutely, 100% exquisite.

Jes, you looked alright too. ;-)

The cool part of Amanda’s bridesmaids is that they were all either sisters or sister-in-laws. A girl after my own heart.

Alright.  You just get ready for some beautiful eye candy.  The ceremony is by far the best part of their blog posts!

Jesie’s husband, Brandon, on the right.

Um… yeah.  SO cool!!!

It was a long ride for Amanda, and even longer wait for Nick.

Kelly Jerrold, you are STUNNING!

Amanda and Nick were married on the boat dock by the lake.  *sigh*  Like I said, a girl after my own heart.  Through and through.

Yeah, that’s stained glass hanging from a giant cross.  Mmm hmm…

Nick’s parents and grandparents are soooo sweet.  Love you guys.

Now, here’s the thing about the Jerrold weddings: they are covered, not only with incredible symbolism to the smallest detail, but also with prayer.  Amanda’s dad gave a terrific blessing over Nick and ‘Manda.

Part II: gorgeous 10 Minute Rule, even more gorgeous portraits in a what?  A sunflower field?  Mmm hmmm.
