Sneak Peek: Karen & Steve

15.07.11 the latest & greatest

Good morning!  Happy Friday!  Yesterday was absolutely amazing.  Karen and Steve’s wedding was everything a Colorado wedding ought to be.  I mean, the bride even walked down the aisle to a John Denver song.  Love.  Their day was GORGEOUS and SO full of emotion.  Best Thursday wedding I’ve ever seen. ;-)

Love you guys, can’t wait to show you more, K&S!

Born on the 14th of July

14.07.11 personal

I always loved that Stereofuse song, “Everything.”  The lyrics are about a girl who is loved.  A girl who has a man in her life that would give her everything. A girl who just happens to be born on the 14th of July…

I remember you do you remember me too
Born on the 14th of July the smell of roses made her cry
And though you’re going far from home rest assured you’re not alone

‘Cause I would give everything that I own
I’d give you my heart and this skin and these bones
The sun the moon the earth the sky I’d never even stopped to wonder why
I would do anything
I would give everything
to be your everything

Now I don’t know if all the people in my life would give me everything, but I do know that the people in my life give me A LOT.  I have THE best family, friends, boyfriend, and clients on this planet. I thank God so very often for the people he’s placed in my life.  I am truly, truly blessed.  I know I can count on my friends for anything.  My family for a good time and laughs and love.  My boyfriend for sweetness and trust.  My clients for encouragement.

I love you all so very much.  Thank you for making this day my favorite day of the year. :-)  I’m floored by all your Facebook comments and it’s only 8:30 in the morning!

I’m off to shoot Karen and Steve’s wedding in Evergreen today.  Yay for Thursday weddings! Sneak peek to come tomorrow.

So much love and gratitude to you all,
René
P.S. Look what I woke up to this morning… See?  Best people in my life ever… this one’s from the best roommate ever.  Love you, Mere!

And this is how Cal spent our morning… on my new porch swing, which was the best birthday gift EVER from the boyfriend. :-D  Cal and I read a little bit and sipped coffee from Hawaii.  Perfect way to start the day. And yes, he’s on a harness.  It’s really weird, I know.  You don’t have to tell me.

P.S. I feel that we all reflect our upbringing in one way or another. Your parents should be so very proud of the amazing young woman you’ve become! They deserve some credit for who you are.

Denver Wedding: Kendall & Ryan – Part II

12.07.11 weddings

Aaaaand now, it’s time for Part II.  We pick up right before the ceremony with these sweet little cherubs!

Because that’s what little girls do. :-)

Love this little ring bearer!

It’s go time!  And if you look real closely on the right, you can see Kendall giving her dad a sweet look.

K&R had the coolest reception! Complete with the most amazing BBQ from the Rib House, bibs, and wet wipes!  Jesie totally rocked these details!

Kendall’s from Seattle, and they met in Spokane, so coffee was an appropriate favorite.  After all, they are the perfect blend. ;-)

The toast were so meaningful and personal.  Just the way I like ‘em.  Love Ryan’s sisters on the left!

Denver Wedding: Kendall & Ryan – Part I

11.07.11 weddings

There is just something so beautiful and elegant about Kendall and Ryan.  Something so sweet and romantic. Something so casual and real.  Like the girl next door kind of love.  Like college sweethearts kind of love.  You know, innocent.  Pure.

Their wedding was the perfect mix of all that sweet, innocent love and elegant, aged love.  Like a good wine.

Kendall and Ryan, I’ve told you before… if only all weddings were like yours.  I have so enjoyed our time together and cannot wait to visit you in Nashville.  Thank you, thank you, thank you for being you.  Carefree you.

You two mean more to me than you’ll know.  Thank you.

So much love to you,
René  + Jesie

P.S. Kendall emailed the day they returned from their honeymoon with the sweetest words… I just had to share:

Hi Rene,

I cannot thank you and Jesie enough for your professionalism, flexibility, relaxed vibe, calming influence, talent, vision, positive disposition, and above all, kindness. Our wedding day was fabulous, and was made all the more fabulous because we went with Rene Tate Photography.

I know that you pride your business on the experience, and what an experience it was for us working with you! All of the little extras- your favorite things, taking us out to dinner, the surprise on our wedding night (best treat ever!)- made our photography experience more than we ever thought it could be.

A good friend of mine who had gotten married a few months before we went with you gave me some great advice. She told me that when choosing a photographer, to choose not only based on style and photographs but on their personality as well, and she was so right! We interacted so much prior to and during the day of the wedding, and having you and Jesie there was like having a couple of extra bridesmaids that happened to have cameras. The number one comment we got during and after the wedding from guests was how much they liked our photographers- and they hadn’t seen any photos. I think that says it all.

Again, thank you so much for being a part of our wedding. It has been a pleasure getting to know you- please feel free to use us as a reference if you ever need one (though I am sure you have plenty!) and if you ever want to check out Nashville give us a call!

With gratitude,
Kendall

Ceremony & Reception: The Lionsgate Events Center – The Gate House
Cake: Intricate Icings
Caterer: The Rib House
Flowers: Oakes Fields Flowers

Kendall’s Jimmy Choos were to die for.

Kendall’s grandma was so sweet.  I love her.

Ugh, Kendall, YOU are so gorgeous!  Definition of gorgeous.  Period.  That’s all.

I could’ve photographed Kendall all day long.  I could’ve easily missed the wedding and just photographed her. ;-)

Her bridesmaids were just as gorgeous.

So while I was with the girls, Jesie was with the guys TOTALLY ROCKING it!  Can we PUH-LEEZ leave my girl Jesie some love in that comment box.

These next two images are literally some of my two favorite images of Jesie’s.  EVER.  The lighting, the journalism… it all just works.

Patiently awaiting his bride.  Their first look was so good! Another fantastic, story-telling image by Miss Jesie.

You don’t want to miss part II.  *sigh*  It’s the coolest reception.  And the cutest kids… :-)
