Sneak Peek: Pumpkins & The Broadmoor

24.10.10 engagements, the latest & greatest

It’s been a sneak peek kind of week… We’ve been shooting so much and editing so much, that we’ve barely had anytime to blog.  The least I can do is whet your whistle with all of the engagement goodness to come.  And can I just take this opportunity thank everyone I’ve worked with in the past month.  I am SO BLESSED.  Extremely blessed.  The people who come to RTP are so unbelievably terrific.  I mean, we have THE best time together, whether we’re eating burrito bowls at Chiptole, sippin’ on some wine at the Broadmoor, drinking coffee at a Safeway Starbucks, or eating at one of the nicest restaurants in Breckenridge.  You never know where we’ll end up after an engagement session, but I know a guaranteed uplifting conversation filled with laughter is sure to accompany.

I can’t thank our brides and grooms enough for believing in me and my team, trusting us, letting us do “our thing,” and befriending us.   Sometimes I can’t believe the life I live… getting to interact with so many beautiful souls, observing them, and learning from them.  It all sounds so cheesy, but I mean it from the deepest part of myself.  I absolutely love where I’m at right now.  Like I said, I’m the blessed one.  Thank you.

Sneak Peek: My Brother’s Engagement

23.10.10 engagements, the latest & greatest

Ahh!  Yes, my sweet brother, Kevin, is engaged!! He proposed to his beautiful fiancé Alyssa, a couple of weeks ago.  I am so happy for them and cannot wait to have Alyssa as a sister-in-law.  What a trip it was photographing all these couples and then having my own blood in front of my camera!  Okay, that sounds a little weird.  But you know what I mean.  Here’s a quick sneak peek of my wonderful brother and his BABE of a fiancé.

Love you guys!

Sneak Peek: Washington Engagements

19.10.10 destination engagements, the latest & greatest

I just might be moving to Washington.  As far as I’m concerned, it’s the best of both worlds.  And if you know me at all, seeking the BOBW (that’s what the insiders know it as) is a core philosophy of mine.  It’s got all the perks of Colorado, but it’s near the ocean which means great seafood (from Alaska!).  And it’s the birth place of Starbucks.  They’re everywhere.  Even in small, tiny towns in the middle of nowhere Washington.  I know cause yours truly drove across the whole state.

Needless to say, I’m back home from Spokane and Seattle where I had two incredible, yet very different, engagement sessions.  I feel so refreshed and recharged.  Shooting in a different state with new scenery is so good for the soul.  Especially when you’re working with people and places as gorgeous as these…

Colo Springs Engagement: Lee & Russell

13.10.10 engagements

Happy Wednesday evening, friends!  The crazy blogging continues!  And boy do I have a treat for you: a double header of engagement shoots to include Lee and Russell, because you see, they like double letters in their names.  No?  It’s a stretch I know.

Lee, Russell, and I got together in Old Colorado City for some sweet “brick wall” shots, per Russell’s request, then headed to Garden of the Gods to grab like 10 minutes of breathtaking light, and then finished with a glass of wine at D’Vine Wines!  Lee and Russell are so classy.  They worked so hard on their outfits only to show up in fall clothes on like the hottest day of the season!  But we powered through and had the best time.  Russell kept us laughing with his sarcasm and Lee couldn’t help but steal our hearts with her smile and laugh.  Wait till you see these…. I can only imagine how beautiful these two will be on their wedding day in Cancun in November! Can’t wait!

Lee and Russell, thank you.  Thank you for being so open, so fun, and so stunning!  Love you and can’t wait to see you in a month!

With joy,
René

Yup, I told you so.  These are going to be good!

Ugh… I want to hang these next two in my kitchen.  Like above my coffee pot so I see them before I start the day every morning!

Woo!

Do these make you melt in your chair or what?

Okay, Lee, I wanted to say it on the first ten photographs, but I saved it for these two, cause they are pretty much my faves: you are absolutely the definition of beautiful. Period.

Love this set!!

Lee, you are a doll!!

Looooove these next two.  So good.  Russell, never stop hugging that girl!

Ladies, it never hurts to paint your nails before your engagement experience so we can show off your ring!

American Gothic has never been so hard.

:-)

Off to Manitou for a few night shots and then some vino!

Gotta give a holler to Tracy and Dean from D’Vine Wines for letting us take over and shoot.  They make some pretty incredible reds there.  Might Lee and I recommend the malbec.  It was phenom. And I’m a cab girl.

Cheers!

Love this one!!
