Garden of the Gods: Cynthia & Jason Engaged

30.09.10 engagements

Hey hey hey!  Happy Thursday!  Man, does time fly.  So I wanted to introduce you to the lovely Cynthia and Jason.  We got together with them this week before their wedding tomorrow to do a quick engagement session around Garden of the Gods and Old Colorado City.  These two are from the Connecticut and Denver area and have never been to Garden of the Gods! It was all Cynthia’s idea and I loved it.  These two have a certain fierceness and attractiveness to them that echo the movie series Twilight. Check it out…

This is where things get a little Twilight-y…

I don’t know… maybe it’s just me.

Cynthia is pretty much the cutest thing.

Stunning!

Here’s the thing about these two.  If they have the chance to compete, they will.  They’re competitive about everything, so they say.

‘Specially football.

She’s a Redskin; he’s a Cowboy.

We wrapped up the shoot with a couple zexy alley shots!

Love these guys!  Cynthia and Jason… what do you say we get you two married tomorrow? Okay? Okay!

Sneak Peek coming soon. :-)

Sneak Peek: Emma & Eric

27.09.10 weddings

I don’t know what it was about this particular wedding of E²… but I feel refreshed.  Completely and utterly cleansed.  Renewed.  Maybe it was the camaraderie of the wedding party,  the serenity of Steamboat Springs,  the gorgeous details that trimmed the day, or the sweet love between Emma and Eric.

I can hardly wait to show you the rest… Enjoy.

USAFA Pressbox Reception: Elizabeth & Ryan – Part III (of III)

24.09.10 weddings

Happy Friday!! Nothing like a little reception goodness to start your weekend. I hope y’all have a great one planned!  I have shoots every night from now through October 1st – woo!  Good news for you guys. :-) I hope you all make it a great weekend and soak up this last little taste of summer.

Enjoy!

Okay, so Ryan’s family kind of fooled me on the day of the wedding.  Here they were making me think they were super quiet and reserved all day, when in the midst of the mother-son dance, they went from fox-trottin’ to funky disco moves! Before you knew it, their sweet little dance to Dancin’ in the Moonlight turned into the perfect choreographed dance for all of Ryan’s family!

SO. MUCH. FUN!

Ice cream sundae bar.  Need I say more?

Aaaaand…. my favorite.  A photo booth!

Okay, so let me just fill you in on this DJ.  He is the bomb DOT COM. Dot org. Dot net. His name is name is Brian Howe from Pure Energy Events and he is the bomb.  Oh wait, we already covered that.  I have never heard a DJ mix and transition the way this guy does.  AMAZING.  Let’s just say he made a Ke$ha fan out of this girl. haha We highly recommend Brian.  Oh, and doesn’t he kind of look like Will Ferrell?

Part of our fun at a reception is doing some fun portraits of guests.  Jesie was off working with this doll.

While I was out with our clients-turned-friends, Kristin and Michael and their little baby boy!!

And get this, my boyfriends brother and his family were guests at the wedding!  This is Mike, Josh, Kayla, and Levi.  Love them!

Off to do some bride and groom portraits, but not before grabbing a little post-dancing snack.

And check out this crazy bird we ran into on the side of the street!

Ahhh it was so gross.

Birds freak. me. out.

Ryan and Elizabeth, can we do it all over again??? I love you two!  We’ll be seeing more of you soon!

So much joy to you,
René

Free Spirit, Free Bird

24.09.10 personal, the latest & greatest

I remember being a little girl… a little shy, quiet girl with hair almost as long as she was tall.  And as I finally grew into that long head of hair, I remember desiring to be this free spirit.  I didn’t think it was me.  I thought was too practical.  Too straight-laced.  But somewhere in the last few years, someone called me a free spirit.  And then a while later, someone said it again.  And again.  And before I knew it, René Tate was a free spirit.  I’m still not sure if that’s true.

Check out this neat little gift that one of our brides, Emma, got me.  She’s always asking for business cards to hand out, and I often don’t have my card case on me.  Fail!  I know.  So she got me this super nifty card case that she said reminded her of me: a free spirit (wannabe).  ;-)

Thanks, Emma!  I love you.  How about we shoot your wedding this weekend?

Oh and if you ever feel like sending me business cards I’m always telling people about you :-) And having business cards would make it so much easier. Just sayin!!
